| Between the World Wars, Cedar Rapids, Iowa had an active arts community, with painters Grant Wood and Marvin Cone and writers Jay Sigmund and Paul Engle. This documentary explores the Regionalist movement in the arts in Iowa, where the Great Depression caused people to turn inward and explore the imagery of their own area. Interviews with Jay Sigmund's daughters, Grant Wood's sister, and the current Marvin D. Cone Professor of Art at Coe College give insight into a community of good friends who loved to make art.
